Goats

The girls that make up our goat herd have come to us from various backgrounds including hoarding situations, neglect, homelessness, and owner surrenders. They have a strong bond and spend their days and nights close together, choosing to snuggle up in close quarters each evening. Their distinct personalities shine through and each one has a special place in our hearts. 

We are thrilled to have many family units within the herd:

Hazel is the mother of Pippa, and we can’t figure out how they can fit so much personality in such tiny bodies! They have never met a stranger and will call out for their caregivers when they want some extra attention.

Rosie and Dolly are sisters, and spend part of every day grooming and nuzzling.

Minnie and Pansy are also sisters. They are Nubian goats which is a goat most often used in goat dairy industry. They are the largest in the herd and thus, the leaders of the pack.

Nellie is mother to Cotton and Cupcake.

Penelope joined us in February, at just 5 weeks old! Immediately after she was born, she was rejected by a goat mama that was far too young to have a kid. Thankfully, our local vet took her in and after she was rehabilitated, we welcomed her home to our sanctuary. She is beloved by all who meet her!

Dorothy came to us summer of 2026 from a local family that wanted to give her the best life possible. She had recently grieved the loss of her sister and was living a solitary life as the only goat. Goats thrive in a herd, and it is so important for their well being to have friends, and now Dorothy will have all of them!

Brady, the adorable boar goat, joined the herd in summer of 2026. He was part of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) club and spent his first year of life training and competing. When she learned of his fate to be sent to auction at the completion of her program, his former trainer reached out to us for help. She had bottle raised him and did not want to see him put down. Luckily we were able to make room for Brady and knew just the right spot for him to start his forever home-with Penelope! Brady gets to live out the rest of his life in sanctuary with friends, family and freedom!
